Lots has been happening since our last Siloh Chapel Building Project newsletter and we are excited to bring this update to you.
Our application to build our new Media Booth has been approved by Council with the agreement that certain conditions need to be carried out. These include:
- building a timber feature on the curved wall at the rear of the platform area,
- replacing the carpeted area surrounding the edge of the stage with timber panelling,
- Adjusting the current café facilities to be temporary and
- An agreement to store the pulpit.
At the time of writing the café adjustments have already been made, and we are now preparing for the remaining building work to take place in the Chapel this weekend. After receiving a quote for £3000 for labour, a generous builder has volunteered his time to do this for free to bless the church. This weekend will be a hive of activity as volunteers come to labour together on this project and we are all excited to see it finished.
As a church family some of us will lift, some will cook, some will give, and we will all pray, as together we take this step in our Building Project.
As we have been preparing for the work to take place, we have already been able to return one of our shipping containers which has been a huge financial blessing. Our next step will be to find a smaller container, or suitable place within the chapel to store the pulpit. This will enable us to return our last shipping container and free us from this monthly expense.
If you know of an available small storage unit or would like to get further involved in our building project, we would love to hear from you.
Thank you so much for praying with us for the project. We look forward to being able to show photographs of the finished Media Booth and other features in the weeks ahead.
